1. SANTA PHOTO AREA:
Create an area for picture Taking. (In
front of an existing Christmas Tree or other decorations are perfect!) An
ornate chair is helpful, or, throw a fancy cloth over an existing chair.
2. NAMETAGS:
If kids wear name tags (Stick-on Gift
tags are OK) Santa can call them by name. (Only the REAL Santa would know!) * Tip: Write out names in large PRINT.
3. CHRISTMAS MUSIC!
Music really helps create a festive
atmosphere when Santa enters and while he’s around. Any kind of player will do.
4. DESIGNATE A PHOTOGRAPHER:
and have YOUR camera ready too! *Don’t
forget to focus on children’s faces as Santa first enters. (You never know when
a Santa photo becomes a family heir-loom).
5. MAKE YOUR LIST:
Santa is at your service! List any particular things you want Santa to
do. Examples: 1.) Make an entrance. 2.) Meet & Greet around the room on entrance. 3.) Pose for pictures & selfies 4.) Distribute
favors or gifts. 5.) Make a special announcement. (Have a microphone on hand for
best results).
6. THERE’S NO RUSH:
Most party visits are not
Mall-style photo shoots where a child has only a few moments with Santa. Give them quality time with Santa and let
them tell him what they want. *Tip: A child "whispering in Santa's ear is a classic photo shot)(Children are sometimes tongue-tied when meeting him and haven't thought about what to ask for) Don’t feel the need to rush a child through a
visit.
7. SANTAS’ BAG
Santa comes with a bag roughly the
capacity of a large trash bag. (Don’t worry, It looks MUCH nicer than that!) It
can be loaded with your gifts or favors, but since a full bag can get very heavy, it may be
best to fill it only partway if you wish Santa to carry it in. (More gifts can
be brought in later, or have only very light gifts/favors if you use only this
bag).
8. DRESSING SPACE:
Santa usually arrives “incognito”
(disguised as a normal person) about 35 mutes prior to his appearance. He
usually needs a private place to change. *This should
be an area where no children could ever accidentally walk into! (Keep Santa looking great by making any minor adjustments to his suit as needed during the
visit).
9. PARKING:
Santa wants to be on-time for you! It
really helps to reserve a nearby parking space. Cones or chairs put out front
of a space work well. Maybe even a cardboard sign on a chair that says
“Reserved for Santa” (Most people understand).
